Withdrawal of union observer status at NCA Board Meetings has now been reversed following appeal by NCOA officials.
Members will recall the announcement last month of the withdrawal of the union observer seat at the NCA Board Meeting as a result of a dispute over the number of union places at the meeting.
The NCOA appealed the decision on the basis that attendance at the meeting gave the unions a vital insight into the strategic direction and organisational priorities as well providing transparency in the board decision making process.
Union attendance will resume with effect from this month and will see the NCOA and its sister unions rotating the single union seat on the basis that information will be shared by the union in attendance with the other unions.
The NCOA acknowledge the decision by the Board as one that is vital to ensure member confidence in the organisation and provides a professional platform for positive and constructive industrial relations.
