Dear Members,
Yesterday saw the publication of the 2025/26 NCA Remuneration Review Body (NCARRB) remit letter.
Frustratingly, NCOA members have still not been told by the Agency what specific pay reforms it is seeking in order to address both anomalies and unfairness in the
current systems. It now seems that we will not know what cost of living pay awards this new government is proposing for public sector workers until after the Autumn Budget statement on the 30th October 2024.
In her remit letter to the NCARRB, the Home Secretary has called for specific information on the ‘the pay gap differential between NCA and Police officers.’ The
NCOA previously provided this evidence in its submission for the 2024/25 pay cycle, making a specific recommendation on how this pay differential could be addressed. The NCOA will continue to make the case for pay levelling with police pay for NCA officers, as part of its evidence for 2025/26.
In the coming weeks, there are opportunities for NCA officers to meet with members of the NCARRB panel. We encourage NCOA members to volunteer to attend these sessions. It is our experience that our members can have an impact on the final report, by augmenting the formal evidence provided by the NCOA to the NCARRB with individual testament on the financial pressures they are facing.

Steve Bond
NCOA National Officer.
